What is the dress code?

We encourage you to dress to impress! Our dress code is formal, so dark suits (or even a tuxedo if you're feeling fancy!) are completely appropriate for the gentlemen. For the ladies, long dresses are recommended, especially since the evening may get a bit chilly. Most importantly, we want everyone to look and feel their absolute best!

What time should I arrive?

Our ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 PM! Please plan to arrive 15–30 minutes early to grab a welcome drink and find your seat. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Where is the best place to stay?

We have room blocks at both The Wells Hotel and Hotel Cashiers, and encourage guests to book through the links in the Travel section of our website, as accommodations in Cashiers are limited. There are also several Airbnbs in the area that may be more affordable options for groups. We’ll be providing wedding-day transportation from both hotels, so keep that in mind if you plan to enjoy a drink!

Are children invited?

While we love your children and want all families to feel included, we kindly ask that the ceremony and dinner remain kid-free for children 10 and under. We will be offering childcare on our family property from 4:00–8:00 PM for children 10 and under (or for any kids who would prefer to play games and hang out during the wedding festivities). Dinner will be provided for them, and they are welcome to join the celebration after dinner concludes.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Due to venue capacity and our guest list, we are only able to accommodate guests who are specifically named on the invitation. If your invitation includes “and guest,” we would love for you to bring a plus-one!

What airport should I fly into?

The closest airport is Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) which is about an hour drive to Cashiers.

What is the weekend itinerary?

To kick off the festivities, we will have a Welcome Party hosted by the Leland's on Friday evening from 7:30–9:00 PM at The Orchard Restaurant in Cashiers. Drinks and dessert will be provided, and we’d love for you to join us as we begin the celebration. On the wedding day, the ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM, followed by the reception, both held at Shiloh, the Sutherland's family home. On Sunday, we’ll be hosting a very casual pickleball party back on the property for anyone who wants to stop by. Bring the fun (and your competitive spirit!) and come say “see you later” before we head to Colorado.

Will transportation be provided?

Shuttles will be provided to and from The Wells Hotel and Hotel Cashiers on the wedding day. Shuttle pickup begins at 4:00 PM and will run continuously until 11:00 PM. Cashiers roads are very dark and winding, so we strongly encourage anyone who plans to drink to use the shuttle services—we want everyone to stay safe and have a fun night! If you plan on using the shuttle, please let us know by September 1st so we can plan accordingly.

What is the shuttle schedule?

Details to come!

Is there parking on property?

If you are not staying at The Wells Hotel or Hotel Cashiers, where transportation will be provided, or if you prefer to drive yourself, limited on-site parking will be available at the Meadow House. Signage will be posted to guide you upon arrival, and a shuttle will transport guests from the parking area to the ceremony and reception location. Please note that Silver Run Reserve is a gated community, and the gate will be open for guest entry from 4:00–5:00 PM only.

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Cocktail hour will take place on the front lawn between the ceremony and reception where you can enjoy cocktails, mocktails, small bites and lawn games.

Could you suggest places to eat, drink and see while I'm in town for your wedding?

Check out the “Things to Do” section of our website to see some of our favorite spots to eat, drink, and explore in Cashiers and the surrounding area. A fun highlight is that the annual Cashiers Leaf Festival is happening the weekend of our wedding, which is especially meaningful since it took place the very same weekend we got engaged last year! We highly recommend checking it out while you’re in town.

Could you give me a link to your wedding registry?

You can find our complete wedding registry here on our website under the "Registry" tab. Please note that our fine china and silver are registered through Fête and will not appear individually on The Knot website. This separate registry is linked at the very bottom of this page.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by September 10!

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Our ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors (weather permitting) and will be uncovered, so we recommend dressing accordingly and bringing a light layer just in case. We will have a tented reception, and depending on the weather, we may have heaters and a fire to keep everyone warm as we celebrate into the evening.
